More and more tutorials

There isn't that much to talk about today. I just went through more tutorials that the 3d modeling programs had. Again it is a lot of stuff to learn in the span of 10-20 min so I plan to go back and rewatch them again.

You can 3d print stuff and earn money for it?

Today I learned about how people 3d print stuff and create tutorials about them and even have a business 3d printing products and selling them online. I also learned more about the different types of 3d modeling software like Blender or Maya. I watched some of the tutorial videos and it was a lot to take in so I plan to go back through those videos to understand them better.

Learning about building a presence as a Video Editor.

Today I dove deeper into Video editing and learned about the different approaches to getting people to hire you as a freelancer. Some of these being as a cold call which is a direct (potential) partnership in which you initiate the proposal. Or a Referral which is getting sourced by people based on feedback from previous clients. I also learned about how to price any videos I edit without trying to scare away clients.

Deciding which program to learn

Today I watched the different tutorial videos of the different free video editors. I ended up deciding using Hitfilm but it was interesting to see what the other programs had to offer. I may also end up using Shotcut if I end up disliking Hitfilm.

A different path? Learning about Video Editing

Today I decided to move on to something different and put Entrepreneurship on hold for a little bit to see what other courses are available for me. I looked into the Video Editing Unit and I learned about being a freelance video editor and a staff video editor. I also learned about the different types of video cuts like L-Cuts and J-Cuts and other video editing techniques. I also learned about different video editing software besides Adobe Premiere. There were lots of videos about the daily lifestyles and editing techniques of professional video editors.

Review, Review and more review.

Today I more or less reviewed the material yesterday and retook the quizzes that I needed to take. I am still learning more about being Entrepreneur though! I enjoy the content and the tutorials even if it isn't a path for me.

The Planning Process of a Business

Today with Techie Youth I learned a lot of stuff about the planning process of being an Entrepreneur such as profit models which are a company’s plan that aims to make the business profitable and viable. It lays out what the company plans to manufacture or provide, how sales will be generated, and all the expenses that the business will incur in a bid to make the model viable. I also learned about how to identify the type of customers I should target, what my value proposition is to my customers and my defensibility against my competition. Some businesses are ran alone by one founder, or are co founded by one or more people and can make alliances or partnerships with other organizations to help each other succeed.

Learning More about what being an Entrepreneur is about and how to better present myself

Today I learned that being an Entrepreneur is hard but it also provides a whole lot of freedom. Though Entrepreneurship isn't for me, if I ever decide to become one the videos here taught me that I shouldn’t beat myself up comparing my background to someone who had it easier than me, to work harder but also smarter every now and then and to plan for tomorrow. And forget yesterday. A key note from one of the videos was to "Ask for the sale" as it makes the person hiring you give you more of a chance than others. These videos also gave me better advice on how to present myself and to be more bold and presentable.

I also learned today about Business models and why people created their own businesses. People like to create their own businesses because they either are targeting a group of people like a daycare for parents who work and can't take care of their child, or following a certain interest like caring for children. However running a business is hard as your idea and startup can fail which is common but given enough time and taken in a different direction, your idea can be successful. But there are some businesses that fully fall flat and are scrapped. But that was a financial risk to fill a need they had and now they can use their experience in that first business for other businesses.
