Given that I will be a student in college, full-time jobs are not viable options for me at the moment. However, many other sources of smaller profit like taking surveys is something I am interested in. Techie Youth showed me a lot of websites I can use to make smaller forms profits and how to avoid the scams which there are a lot of when it comes to trying to make profit this way.
Today, I learned of other forms of writing that I could choose to make money, such as customer service, transcription, and technical writing. Given that I am not as in tuch with my creative side (but am actively seeking to become more in touch with it), this might be a great alternative to pursue until I am able to let my creativity flow. I especially love how much freedom transcription allows and can be a side hustle while I am in college. I also love that technical writing is super straightforward, no room for debate.
I've always wanted to start a personal blog for my day-to-day experience highlighting any hobbies or things I enjoy. Writing is a form of escapism for me and vital for my mental health. Today at Techie Youth, I learned of a way to profit off this hobby and I think this is a route I would want to pursue.
Given that I am very STEM oriented, I don't often realize that I can make money off my writing skills. As someone with excellent writing skills, I want to seriously consider freelancing using my writing skills after I graduate.
Today, I learned more about AI, focusing on concepts such as algorithmic thinking, predictive analytics, and machine learning. These concepts, while certainly complex, are very fascinating to me because with these mechanisms in place, a computer can be given the potential o make decisions that humans have.
Given that I want to go into engineering, AI robotics has always interested me. While this may not be the field I have chosen to pursue, I have always been fascinated by the concept of AI. Fortunately, because it is such a new field, if I ever choose to pursue it, there are many other ways other than a degree I can take to enter the field.
Commodities seems like such a staple in the investment world. In order to make products, commodities need to be used. Taking advantage of this method seems like a great financial route. I would definitely consider investing in commodities to add to my portfolio.
Trading options is a route I'd never heard of before until today. While trading options is a lot more complex than investing in stocks, trading options is a less riskier route than investing in stocks, protecting oneself from financial disasters. However, given that I am (1) not as experienced with reading the stock market and its trends and (2) want to have a less hands on experience with investing, I personally would choose to invest in stocks, at least until I can get a better understanding and more experience with trends in the stock market.
I've always wanted to own real estate, and I've learned of a lot of success stories of people who use their property to earn income when not occupying thr state. Since I was young, being able to own properties was a sign of success for me. Today at Techie Youth I learned of REITs. Given that I am currently a full-time student in college with not that much in my bank account, this is a route I would heavily consider looking into before reaching a state in my life where I would have the means to fully buy a property. This allows me to gain more experience in such a sector without jumping into the real thing and a cheaper alternative.
Today at Techie Youth, I learned of another trade: Forex. I had heard of the term forex and vaguely understood what it was, but never knew understood it in depth. I find the ability to profit off of differences in exchange rates interesting. While typical investing methods are globally accessible, this method allows people to directly use differences in currencies and such to their advantage. I found this trade very interesting and would like to look into it more.
Cryptocurrencies have been on rise in the past few years, and Bitcoin being an especially popular term mentioned afterwards. However, I still never understood what exactly cryptocurrency was. Today at Techie Youth, I learned about cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, Litcoin, Ethereum. I had no idea just how new cryptocurrency was. however, only dating back to the early 2010s. However, given how quickly they have risen in popularity and usage, they are highly likely to be a future worth investing in early. I find the idea of cryptocurrencies really interesting in comparison to the regulars route of stocks because of the fact cryptocurrencies are purely digital. It is not a physical substance. Given that I only have begun to understand the basics of cryptocurrencies, I intend to do more research on personal experiences with cryptocurrencies before I decide whether investing in this currency is worth it.
Last summer, I listened to a financial feminist podcast that urging its listeners to start investing what leftover money was available after each paycheck or such, explain this would be super beneficial for me in the long run - especially near retirement age. Today, at Techie Youth, I learned exactly how to do that. I learned about the types of stocks that exists, the different types of orders an investor can make, how to read stock charts (which have always been confusing on first glace), and the risks that go into investing in the stock market. What I learned today will allow me to make more educated decisions on how I invest my money in the stock market.
Owning a business is just as psychological as it is physical. In order to attain what you want for your business, owners must be well educated on how to operate the mind of a person. In order to get investors, in order to get customers, in order to get employees. This is a key component in the business world that can be detrimental if one does not understand how to conduct themselves.
Owning a business always seemed like a straightforward path, with only one path existing. However, today at Techie Youth, I learned of contingency plans. If one path fails. another was already mapped out and the business can go from there. This is because there is no one way for a business to be successful. With all the moving parts that comprise a business, there are only probabilities of success and these probabilities increase with plans such as these set in place.
Building a business is a step by step process, and each step must be planned and precise. While I never expected building a business to be easy, today I learned just how meticulous entrepreneurs must be when building a business. Initially, I thought being a business was between two people, seller and customer, with the product being the in between. However, today I learned there is so much more. Who makes the products? Who is on your team? Who are your competitors? And before even launching your business, these are all moving aspects you have to be aware of.
Ever since I was young, I had the strongest urge to travel. I knew that I wanted to travel around the world when I graduated from college. I originally thought the only way to do such a thing was being a successful, millionaire business owner. However, I also new I had no interest in entrepreneurship, so I felt conflicted. I had no idea that a style like digital nomad existed. In fact I had never heard of the term digital nomad until today at Techie Youth. After college, this is most definitely a route I want to consider pursuing. I would be content with traveling the world at a low budget cost. Despite many nomads discussing the cons of giving up many luxuries and comforts, I find the experience completely outweighing the cons. When I near my graduation, I will most definitely come back to this route and learn more so that I can make this dream a reality.
The key to a healthy quality of life is balance, balance between mental and physical heath, achieved through time management. What many people don't realize is that only prioritizing only one will never lead to a happier life style. Both must be prioritized to achieve happiness. Setting time aside to go for a walk to go to the gym or attend a yoga class. Setting time aside to spend time with loved ones or simply sleep. Both go hand in hand to obtain a health lifestyle.
When it comes to money, many people truly believe ignorance is bliss. For this reason, many people are not aware of their finances. This willingness to be ignorant about one's own finances, however is exactly what leads to an inability to take control of their financial future. Today, what I learned at Techie Youth is that in order to secure a future where I am financially independent, I can take little steps such as monitoring my expenses and my earned income and then making small changes in my financial moves to fit my needs and goal better.
Pursuing remote jobs online have benefits and downsides. One must take into account the downsides of remote jobs when making the decision to switch to remote. Pursuing remote jobs require a lot of self-discipline, something I struggle with. However, I also value mobility, the ability to not be geographically restricted and travel. This value is enough to balance my struggles with self-discipline. I am willing to practice more self discipline in order to pursue such a job.
