Today I learned about Facebook which is a $527 billion company. People are constantly active on Facebook and they use it for multiple things! Anyone can get on Facebook and follow a community that has passions and similar interests. A few things can help when getting on Facebook. You can find your specific audience by factoring in your interest whether it is music, dance, video games, or fashion. Use that to find the purpose of why you’re on Facebook and build a following by being loyal on Facebook and staying consistent when posting. Make Q&A videos, and weekly polls and offer incentives to join the group. Facebook is one of the starting applications to get stuff start when you want to push your passions or interest.
Good afternoon, I'm learning about social media, I want to find out how to find niches and how people use social media to profit off of products or skills. I started with Instagram and it gave me a start on how to make money on Instagram. I learned about “Amazon affiliates” which gives me the ability to use a link to Amazon products and when people use my link to go to Amazon and buy the product, I gain a small percentage. I didn’t think it was a great idea at first but it’s not really that bad of an idea. I think getting links to things you buy would make sense so then you can promote them and the links! Watches and beauty pages are nice but I think something like a workout page with a proper business email and good photography. I would use the workout brands I use and try to gain approval for an affiliate link after gaining a substantial amount of followers so I can have a good portfolio.
I rewatched the video and I made about 30 seconds of an actual clip! The music production is actually more helpful because Leo shows the inside of editing software while mixing and making new sounds. The video production helped with finding free programs however, I didn’t find the details in depth during certain parts. As of today and yesterday, I am rewatching the video and music production because both classes have aspects that can help me during the whole process of making anything. Leo goes in-depth with the sound such as cleaning up sounds that are messy or tuning them downwards so they can be heard but interpreted differently. The bass and trebles of his guitar and the way he can alter stuff with the piano because he plugs certain keys with certain notes. I want to try and watch the social media classes tomorrow and see if they have anything about finding a niche.
I tried to make a video edit today! I recorded myself riding my skateboard around my area and went back to edit it. I honestly rewatched the video editing videos on what tools to use because I didn’t know where to go after trimming one part of the recording and trying to edit it back into the video. I wanted to try and do a video with background music and subtitle narration. I thought it would be a good way to practice all the things I’ve watched in the past few days. The video helped me get my background music synced up and showed me a little on what sounds should be like when I’m mixing two different audio parts? But other than that I think I need to do some more work and research in tech youth so I can actually make a whole video instead of trying and failing. But I’m learning from the videos and the people that speak? Trying and failing isn’t a bad thing, it’s just a part of the whole process.
I'm working on writing in teacher youth today because it has the ability to help with managing information but also being able to stay creative in my words. I like the video of Anna Wintour, she spoke of “Understanding the information” & “Stay creative and find your vision.” I thought this would help with music and video production because she spoke of leading and what drives her which is to question what direction she is going in and what decisions she is making without “making apologies.” She talks of owning her decisions in a way that she doesn’t have to look over her shoulder or wonder if she needs someone’s approval. The creativity she speaks of is the way I see music and videos as a whole. I don’t think music or videos should follow but lead people to open up their creative senses. That’s why we go to concerts and get ready for a movie night! We prepare for the entertainment not just to see it but to actually appreciate the substance that the video or music brings.
Techie Youth is helping so much! Today I learned about free video editing applications such as da Vinci and Resolve! I’m excited to download these and try them, the classes today showed me what to do when making videos and what settings to actually apply. It will be a little while before I actually make a clean-cut video but I’m very excited to try. I think Resolve will be the editing software I try though, it seems a little more simple with all the tools and the presets. I would more so use resolve to gain some knowledge and then take that knowledge and try over da Vinci! I will most like to be rewatching these videos again just so I can try out some presets on footage I capture!
Good afternoon, today in techie youth I decided to stop with my video/ music production classes. I saw a video about copywriting though, I thought about videos and music because many producers gain inspiration based on other artists & producers. So I learned a little today about the difference between copywriting and inspiration. I learned that nowadays copying is just biting someone's style or script and just moving as if that is your work with no regard for the other producers. It made me think and question what movies are made that have been copied but yet the audience doesn’t know at all because they are just the regular viewer. I want to buy software to make videos and music but I don’t want to copy off someone. I want to try my own stuff and learn from mistakes through guides and maybe classes. That is an inspiration because I will move with the task and find the knowledge that will keep me determined to stay at my goals in said category.
Good afternoon, today I decided to follow up with the video production videos. I thought it would be a good idea after music production because it would help me with background music in videos. Know how to mix the music/ sound effects properly so I can get the perfect mixture between a video's details and the music to emphasize what’s going on in that scene. The classes from yesterday were cool because I would think about songs that would music with certain production techniques such as the “dynamic” scene shots. A pan around from a side angle to a zoom in with the right music can set the scene so well! Today was more so me learning than taking notes because I really wish that I was more advanced in video production.
Today in techie youth I decided to pick the music production for my assignment. I don’t have music production software anymore so I wasn’t able to make a song but I did learn some new things from these videos today. The layering, the tools used, and the variations of melodies. Although I don’t fill rock music, I found it dope how he layers his music and switched the tones of his voices to make one whole “rift.” He would say how a rift sounds “dirty” or “messy” however, I wasn’t able to realize what Leo meant at the first or second listen. I had to play it back a few times to hear the parts that were shallow and not as heavy. Leo had to project his voice at a loud octave but also alter the way his voice sounds so he can make a soft or metal-heavy rift. It was cool today learning rock because it made me think about songs like Chop suey and B.Y.O.B because I realize how much work they have to put in to get one certain part to sound a particular way. The told they used are sick such as the electric tuning device? I didn’t even know that was out there on the internet! I have a g7 and I would like to upgrade and definitely try out that device.
The things that really caught me today were the information on how to make money through different things such as social media, and niche website making. It was very informative to a person like myself because I like finance. Having ways to produce income and be financially stable. I didn’t know that you could sell 3D printed items and other computer-designed crafts online. I thought it was just a way that people expressed art and themselves. I more so thought that I would go with social community organizing because that seems like a way to gain connections just as much as getting paid. The companies I help could tell others about my services which could bring me more profit!
