Today I reviewed the HTML and CSS units to recap my knowledge. I want to become better accustomed to each tag and its function. Tags are keywords that provide a webpage with instructions on how to display content. Tags can be altered with attributes. Attributes function as modifiers. They adjust the size, color, and alignment of a tag. For instance, a body tag can be changed with a size, color, background, width, and height attribute. Attributes serve in providing web pages with professional and clean formatting and presentation.
Today I learned how to host websites on the internet. Web hosting is a very vital component in web development as it allows websites to generate traffic by being accessible to the public. Web hosting is the process in which a website is kept and maintained on a server. This server is used to regulate all of the data and files that a website uses. Some servers contain multiple websites, while others may only contain one website. The more websites that are held on a server can have adverse effects on the functionality of a website. This is usually seen with slower load speeds, crashes, overloading of data, and greater vulnerability to data breaches and hacks.
Today I continued my studying of HTML and CSS. This time l learned how to modify the layout of a website using different CSS tags. Such tags include; div tags and semantic tags. These tags are used to organize and section the content that is displayed on a website. Div, header, footer, nav, and section are a list of some tags that are used in this process. Semantic and Div tags help to ensure that content is accessible, organized and easy to read by the viewer.
Today I learned how to construct a website using the HTML and CSS programs. HTML controls the wording and content of the page, and CSS is used to modify the appearance and aesthetic. Both programs contain a wide range of tags and keywords which control how material is displayed and formatted on a website. The basic tags include; HTML, body, head, title, h1, and img. HTML tags are used to add text and content to a website, whereas CSS tags are used to add color, fonts, and different layouts. These tags make up the key features of a website such as the images, header, outline, and content that is displayed. HTML and CSS form the foundation and structure of a website. Both programs are essential in ensuring that a website is functional and can be viewed and utilized by the public.
Today I learned how to navigate the features of different editing software; DaVinci Resolve and Final Cut Pro. I learned about the different tools that are necessary for effective editing as well as how to utilize them. Audio and picture exporting, timeline editing, clip trimming, and transitional effects are a list of some that I recall. Each of these features is crucial when editing film, as it helps to maintain proper flow and pacing. Certain techniques such as audio and visual exporting and transition effects are also significant, as they can be used to captivate the emotions and feelings of the viewer and immerse them in the film.
Today I learned the different editing techniques that directors use when producing films. Of such, were J and L cuts which are transitional sequences where the audio of one scene carries on or precedes the next scene. These cuts are used typically during one on one dialogue and scene transitions. They help to bring emphasis and significance to a scene and can help the editor captivate the feelings and emotions of the audience. Color grading is another film facility that is used to modify the appearance of an image in different areas and environments. Color grading allows images to pop and appear more vibrant and lively to the audience. In film, it is used to affect the tone and mood of the story. These were some film techniques that I found to be very intriguing and fun to learn about.
